3.. 2.. 1.. Midnight, November 1s! Merry Christmas season!
Just like Jess from New Girl, as soon as the leaves start to change color I've got Christmas brain! And why not make the countdown to Christmas official with an advent calendar?
Growing up we always had those little chocolate ones but these days there are SO many different types of advent calendars to choose from. Every year I like to try a new one from some of my favorites brands. In case you haven't picked out your advent calendar here are a few I found this year, including a few of my past year choices!
Up first is my 2023 pick! We just had to replace our stove and since then I've been baking up a storm. Having an updated stove has given me the courage to take on Macarons for the first time. Since I've had macs on my mind, I of course have been thinking about the delicious macarons from Ladurée. While looking for flavor inspiration from their site I was thrilled to see they offer an advent calendar. I just ordered it and I can't wait until this beauty shows up on my doorstep.
The packing looks GORGEOUS. I'm also really excited to try some of their other treats they have to offer. I've been lucky enough to visit their Beverly Hills location but definitely loaded up on macs and not their other goodies.

Introducing Ladurée's Iconic Advent Calendar. Outside, a white glittery decor with a wide powder pink ribbon reveals a festive crown. Inside, it's a delectable world of macarons and 24 boxes filled with delights like Eugénie, caramels, praline chocolates, nougats, jams, and a special surprise hidden in the last box. Limited stock, updated daily. |
Next is my last years pick, Vouspa! I looooove lighting a candle and snuggling up with a book. These candles can be on the pricier side but I really like that with advent calendars you typically can get a pretty good deal, especially if you can use a sign up code or get them during a black Friday sale. I really, really liked this calendar. Everything was usable (you know sometimes you get weird filler things in advent calendars) and the quality of everything was AMAZING. Seriously, I still have the box housing some of the candles. Not sure the exact material but it's a hard acrylic like plastic and not cardboard.

For a few years in a row I was getting Gray the Lego Star Wars Calendar. After a few years it did seem a little repetitive and then we also had a few bags of random lego characters laying around. I do think it's a fun one but maybe more so if you have a lego collection (or kids). Gray is in his gym rat era and surprisingly I can't find any US brands that make a protein advent calendar. So this year I'm going to round up a bunch of different protein bars and snacks and make my own!

As I mentioned I'm in baking era since getting our new stove. I found this cute baking advent calendar at Williams and Sonoma that would be the perfect gift if you like baking. The only downside is you would have to wait until the very end to get all your cookie cutters to make cookies!

And last but certainly not least we can't forget about our furbabies this season (as if we ever would). I love that there are a TON of different doggie (and kitty!) advent calendars out there. This one from Bonne et Filou caught my eye and is on my list for my pups. Sugar is allergic to chicken so I was thrilled to see a very clear ingredient list.
